Hi all,

So @capitalette​ and I are involved with Tabula Idem, a queer-focused comic anthology and 22 card deck of original short stories based around the figures of tarot’s Major Arcana. We’re doing the Temperance card ourselves, which features a romantic adventure comic between two magic gangsters:  Constance “Con-Man” Moreno and Velv Heart.

In a town where elementally-empowered gangs are fiercely protective of their empires, Con (leader of the lightning-based Trigger Shocks) and Velv (torch singer queen of the smoke-slingin’ Canaries) must put aside their heated rivalry when a new fire-flinging gang attempts to mosey in on the same turf they’ve been scrapping over for years.

The kickstarter launched a few days ago, and we’d really love to get the word out. So many amazing comic artists are attached, and we really want to see this project come to light!

All the stories feature queer characters living their lives to the fullest, and—best of all—there are no tragic endings.

WANDERLUST is an anthology of reimagined myths, legends and folklore from all over the world. We will encourage contributors to explore stories beyond Greco-Roman, as we are looking to celebrate diverse stories from different places and cultures. Our theme is QUESTS & JOURNEYS. Our contributors will have the freedom to interpret that theme as they wish.

The anthology itself will be a printed, full colour book funded through a Kickstarter. It will feature artwork, stories and comics from our selected contributors.

This is an open call for applications from writers and artists. 

Who can sign up?

Anyone over the age of 18 is welcome and encouraged to apply to this anthology! No previous experience with anthologies is required, and we encourage everyone who is interested in the project to apply. Just come with your desire to explore mythology and some samples of your work, and we would love to get your application! Sign ups will be open until July 30th.

Starting off Day 2 of the Webcomic Library Con will be the Lettering Workshop. Shiza ( @shizamura), the creator of O Sarilho, and Emma, the creator of Honestly Not a Robot, will be showcasing what goes into putting words into a comic and how this little act can bring storytelling to a whole other level!

This panel will be starting at 5pm est on August 21st. If you’re interested in watching and don’t want to miss it the Webcomic Library Con will be streaming this free virtual panel on Twitch. We hope to see you there!
