Two years!! It honestly hasn’t felt like that long…but at the same time when I look back at posting the first page in my first year of university and I realize that oh my god it really has been that long…
I really had no real idea of what I was doing when I first started GBA: I didn’t know comics composition, panel layout, color coordination, pacing… (and honestly I’m still stumbling my way through all of these things and more) but I can definitively say that I’ve improved a lot in these past two years and I’m quite proud of that.
So to all my readers, thank you for being here even through all the amateur art and inconsistent upload schedules. I’ll continue to do my best to improve and to make GBA the best it can be.

Summary: Artistic Process is a comic that talks about the struggles of being LGBTQ+ in Highschool, while also tackling problems like hyper masculinity; racism, and more, while we follow the two main character’s story and the way they all find to, in one way or another, begin to express themselves.

Summary: AVERSION is a webcomic about diner owner Gavin Snyder, a human unwillingly caught in the middle of the Endless War of Heaven and Hell, and the angel Nadhirrah, assigned to protect him. It features wild dog demons, birds of prey angels and a majority queer, diverse cast. There will be violence, brief sexual content, foul language and a dorky amount of animal facts.

Summary: Avialae is a webcomic about a gross bird boy and his bird-obsessed boyfriend–Imeanneighbor who helps him out during the painful and bloody process of growing wings. Gannet used to be perfectly normal. Sure, he was stuck in a homophobic hellhole in the middle of nowhere, but he was normal. Then he woke up one morning to find a freakish set of wings sprouting from his back. With no one but his wannabe ornithologist neighbor, Bailey, to confide in, Gannet now must go through the painful and bloody process of growing wings.
Summary: Wynn is struggling to survive when the Immortal Swigne gives Wynn their Blessing. The only explanation Swigne gives is that Wynn now has “Power”. Wynn meets people Blessed by other Immortals that can help guide them. In searching for knowledge of their new gift Wynn finds love, friendship and a more full sense of self identity. Wynn learns that being Blessed is a gift with a price tag of responsibilities and constant hunger attached, but the pay off is fantastic strength and the resources they’ll need to thrive in the world they live in. As long as Wynn keeps overcoming the challenges their new status brings them.
Summary: Cunning Fire is an urban fantasy story about witches and spirits in modern day Chicago, following the journey of Akiva Stein as she enters this unfamiliar, hidden world and learns the craft of the Death witch. Caught up in her new coven’s quest to create the legendary Elixir of Life, Akiva is forced to face her ability to see spirits and come to terms with the ways magic has tainted her past, and how it will shape her future.

Summary: Callipus is being chased by the police after hacking into one of greatest corporation there is. During an escape, he meets a mysterious boy who appears to also be a runaway and after being saved by him, they end up working together.

Thorn is the leader of the knights. Leif prunes the embassy’s rose trees. Both jobs end up being weirder, more complicated, and more hazardous than they look.
Summary: Les Normaux follows the life of a bunch of supernatural beings living in Paris after a human wizard named Sebastien moved to the city. They each tell their own side of the story in their respective diaries.
Summary: Being a trans man is tough. Sometimes you gotta wrestle bears, and other times you can’t get the goddamn lid off the applesauce! Follow the funny adventures of 3 trans guys as they go through life.
Summary: Monster Pop! is a comic about two best friends and the slice of life adventures they share! Monster Pop! is set in an alternate Earth where monsters coexist with humans; sometimes they integrate well, sometimes they clash. This comic is heavily influenced by shoujo manga.
Summary: Set in a fictional town called Havenhart, located in Indiana around 1984, MCCC follows the life of young monster teenagers and the threat of hunters

Summary: Millennials with shapeshifting battle monsters. They (the monsters, not the millennials) are immortals who bond with human Masters for the span of that human’s life – except the Dog, who ran away and was taken in by a couple of underemployed queer twentysomethings. Now they have to figure out the battle system, protect their new pet/friend from shadowy pursuers, and find someplace that’s hiring full-time.

Summary: Living Space is a 130-page comic about a space museum janitor named Norma Abernathy. She lives a relatively solitary life in Seattle, content to be a loner. Her life comes to an abrupt halt when she learns that her mother has passed away. Determined to find closure, Norma leaves on a road trip with two complete strangers, Shaula Wasem and Phoebe Gita. On Norma’s journey, we see the struggles of trying to exist in a space outside our homemade habitat. Living Space contains themes of mental illness, LGBT romance, life transitions, and anxiety of being in the open.
Summary: Magic Advisor is a fantasy comedy with LGBT themes. Lizzy is a magic advisor helping people out with supernatural problems. Prim is a wannabe supervillain in frilly dresses who likes stealing occult objects. The comic follows the adventures of those two frenemies.
Summary: Missing Monday is a coming of age webcomic that follows Foyle Leaf and her growing relationship with Monday Rhodes, a girl from another world who appears one day through a doorway in an abandoned clocktower.
Summary: This is a romantic comedy and everyday life about 2 girls that meet each other when one moves into the apartment complex where the other one is already living. One gets instant crush on the other and it’ll be her adventure on getting her heart.
Summary: Five twenty-somethings have just found out they’re not human: they’re actually changelings, magical beings swapped with humans as babies. As such, they frequently venture into the magical Otherworld to figure out whoand what they are, while still tackling their life in the human world, and making new friends and foes along the way.
Summary: Amira and Sadie are two very different princesses who decide to take their happily ever after into their own hands. Princess Princess was my first attempt at a longer comic narrative, and I hope one that depicts different kinds of female strength and relationships.

Along the way, she makes friends with an eclectic bunch of people of varying orientations and gender identities. See their stories filled with silly humor, teenage angst, occasional adult angst, copious amounts of love triangles, mockery of product names, complex relationships, tons and tons of dialogue, and sometimes a cute, little bunny.
Summary: When a zombie apocalypse hits during the practice of a high school basketball team, it’s a whole new life for the coach, Jeff. The world’s turned upside down and the girls seem to be handling the changes way better than Jeff, who has troubles adjusting. A close-knit group of friends, the girls are eager to tackle this new world with its challenges!
Summary: Rife with nuns, Witches, magick, werewolves, cats, giant robot mechas, and blue angels who pop out of toilets to announce approaching apocalypses, Sister Claire is a webcomic about a young woman who leaves her quiet abbey to undergo a rigorous journey across a monster-riddled wilderness.

Summary: The Damastesien army, enslaving and pillaging, sweeps the continent in search of their runaway queen. Gambler and thief Mephena Sibiclair travels alone, terrified of capture. The thief meets a rude elf with a heart of gold who is looking for a girl. Together they flee the Damastesi Empire.
Summary: The fairly uncomplicated story of a lesbian child who is sent off to a convent to have her ungodly ways corrected. That works out about as well as you would expect.

As of December 31st, 2020 Smackjeeves has closed. The site was a major pillar of webcomic culture, being one of the first webcomic specific sites out there and still pretty popular before it updated last year and caused a mass exodus from the site. The loss of this site is a tragedy with the variation of hosting sites slimming and the loss of many comics exclusive to the site.
Summary: Pun-loving teenager Claire Voyant wasn’t expecting death to be so confusing. Instead of peacefully moving on, she finds herself embroiled in underworld politics, with a new job that’s more dangerous than she’s ready for. Meanwhile, her brother Jared tries to make sense of his sister’s death and piece together his family’s legacy as he runs from the supernatural forces that want him dead.
Summary: No End is a webcomic about a group of people struggling to survive in a post apocalyptic country ravaged by an unyielding winter and hordes of undead. Summary: Out & About is a comics series created by illustrator Kris Barz that tells the story of Kevin and his friends going through life and its challenges. All the characters are part of the LGBTQIA community. The stories are about friendships, relationships, work, family, sexism, prejudice and the strips touch those issues with irony, comedy and a little bit of sarcasm.
Summary: In Ark Hana, signa rule the streets after nightfall, but aren’t afraid to puff their chests in daylight, either. After a quick dance with death, Nicholas Morello finds himself in the arms of Leo Rothstein, who not only saves his life, but intends to stick around for the long haul. Becoming friends and eventual lovers, Nick and Leo discover more about each other than they know about themselves. The two are forced to cease contact when Nick is arrested on account of murder.

Summary: Wicked Hero contrasts to our own world by showing what it could be to live in a society where diversity and individuality is a given.
