I don’t know Tumblr’s fate in the future. I’m still going to be active here, but for those who’re leaving and want to follow my art elsewhere:
Twitter: @reimenayee
Instagram: @reimenayee
Deviantart: reimena
Webcomic: alcottgrimsley.com
Basically just search my name! I’ll most likely pop up. I’m most active on Twitter.
I think what’d I miss most if the exodus is real bad is the academic and visual resources here. There’s no other place on the internet that provides things like historical costuming, fun-facts and inspiration (from the macabre to the whimsical) ALL in one place, free and so accessible too. I can’t think where else I would learn about Catholic bejewelled catacomb skeletons if not on Tumblr.
No updates for awhile cause Patrik and I have guests! Currently hosting @reimenaashelyee , author of the Eisner nominated comic The Carpet Merchant of Konstantiniyya, during her stay in California. You can catch us a Friday and Sunday walking around at SDCC and next weekend at my booth at MidsummerScream in Long Beach, CA
If you haven’t read it and want something vampiric to read until the next Patrik page, definitely check out The Carpet Merchant and consider preordering the Volume I on Unbound :)

If you enjoy any of these webcomics I encourage you to reblog this post or reblog their works. Most if not all of the comics mentioned rely on word of mouth to grow their audiences. All of these wonderful creators deserve to have their stories seen and heard and you can help by spreading the word!

THE CARPET MERCHANT OF KONSTANTINIYYA VOL II IS NOW CROWDFUNDING!! (link)
In the second and final installment of
the Eisner-nominated online graphic novel, we follow Zeynel, a carpet
merchant turned vampire, as he travels across the West in search of
home, after the passing of his wife, Ayse. Through a young English
friend, Alfred Grimsley, Zeynel moves to a quiet town in Southeast
England. There he finds himself at the centre of a fad for all things
Turkish, grappling with the meaning of home as it is distorted by the
lens of Orientalism.
Three years later, he is surprised
when he finds the vampire responsible for his death — Mora Strigoi — at
his door begging for forgiveness. While Zeynel and Mora struggle to make
sense of each other’s differences, Alfred Grimsley uncovers a trail of
blood made by a mysterious serial killer, and makes the terrifying
discovery that it ends at the doorstep of his closest friend, Zeynel.
HEY GANG!! We’re gonna do it like we did for Volume One and crowdfund another big, chonky graphic novel. This time, in blue!
The aesthetic will be the same as the last book – hardcover with gold foil with interiors inspired by English Rococo and Ottoman Turkish art. There are three new exclusive rewards for this volume: a bat x tulip gold enamel pin, a re-release of the nightingale x rose pin, and a specially woven carpet bookmark. Standard rewards include the transcript, the supplementary guide, signed bookplates and your name as a patron at the back of the book.
If you love graphic novels about POC vampires with gorgeous production values, a deliciously heartbreaking story, and a lot of salt against Orientalism written by a POC author, this is the book for you. Become a supporter now.
