The Webcomic Library has been a project I have been officially working on for almost 4 years come next month. It’s been my passion project and has helped me through my life more than you know. I’m constantly inspired by the creators and stories I learn about in the webcomics community and through this work I can only hope to give that back in return.
It’s my absolute delight to announce the Webcomic Library is being archived by the Library of Congress! This means the contents of my Tagpacker database and tumblr are being recorded and documented for future use and research regarding comic literature and criticism. I’m very excited to have the opportunity and have my work be regarded as worthwhile and important for others who want to know what stories people are taking the time to share.
I can only hope to do right by the folks whose webcomics mean so much to me and to continue to improve and expand upon the work I’m doing right now. I just want to thank you all. From the readers looking for a comic to read to librarians looking for new books to buy to the creators looking to find community and resources. I can only hope to not only continue to contribute these things but keep learning right along with you!
Hiya! First of all I wanted to give a huge thank you to you peeps! Over the past week I’ve seen more folks following this tumblr and interaction with the Webcomic Library database than I’ve seen since I put this project out to the public over 4 years ago. I’m blown away by all the love the library has been getting!
With all the new folks following I wanted to give a little update on what I’ve been up to. Back in January I finished my previous major project which was expanding the library to include print, subscription, and download exclusive comics. I actually started this project back in May 2020 but it took a while to enter in my full personal collection. With that integration done I’m hoping to continue adding more paywalled content to help promote those works and let readers know what they’re getting into before buying.
With all the support this project has been getting I’m itching to get working on the next major project on the horizon. Now folks who have been following my work for a while be familiar with my pervious masterpost series and know that I back away from doing them around this time last year. I’ve been missing them terribly but want to take my blog work a step upward. For the next step in the library I’m looking to make an independent blog space! I have a lot of ideas for what kind of content I want to bring to the table and I’m hoping you all will stick around to see the result!
This major project is currently slow going as I have other priorities in my personal life that need my attention and care but I’m hoping to get more things moving during the summer. In the meanwhile I’ve been regularly working in the background to add and update the Webcomic Library database. Currently I’m chipping away at an inventory of the “Genre” tag category. I have plans to edit and add a few tags during the process, including combining the “Historical Fantasy” and Historical Fiction” tags and adding a “Furry” tag so keep an eye out for that!
While I’m at it I also wanted to promote the Webcomic Library Discord! We’re approaching 300 members strong now and hold events regularly. This month we have the following events going on:

March 22nd-26th: Reader Discussion on Magical Girls In partnership with the Aradia Collective

We have plans to introduce some new, fun art challenges next month. We always have something interesting going on whether it be new art to interesting discussions about the webcomic community. Yo peeps! In celebration of Autism Acceptance Month I have decided that i want to do a masterpost cataloging autistic representation in webcomics! I’ve been wanting to expand my work on marking representation in webcomics for a while beyond my current work on LGBT representation, and I think this project will help kickstart my goal to make an entirely new page in my library helping peeps find representation of characters with mental and physical disabilities.
To do this I need help. I have read a lot of comics already with a variety of characters, all with different experiences in life, but I can read so much and my ear on new comics relies greatly on the readers and creators who bring my attention to them. So here’s how you can help me find new webcomics:
1. Reblog this post! Either add a comment telling me about comics that you read or just reblog it with nothing to help spread the word to other people who might be interested in what I am doing. Either way this will really help me with my goal!
2. For webcomic creators that have autistic characters, submit your comic to me! Your work means so much to so many people who are looking for autistic characters and people that represent both their struggles and what they love about themselves, including me, and hopefully this masterpost will help connect those people to your comic! I have added in a physical and mental disabilities category so just mention if your character is autistic there!
3. Do you already have your webcomic in my library? Have you already submitted your comic to me in the past? Don’t feel comfortable submitting your comic to me or just don’t have the time? Send me an ask! I will happily keep the ask private by request. I already have 3 comics that have autistic representation noted for this masterpost (Sharp Zero, All Our Cuts and Bruises, and Spectra Spell) but I feel like there must be more I have already read and I would love to represent them in this masterpost!

She’s nearly out of money when things finally seem like they’re about to turn around and she finds a job waitressing at a bar run by a woman named Xenia Maes. What Tally doesn’t realise is that her troubles are only just beginning and soon nothing will ever be the same.

balderdash! tells the story of two witch girls and their friends in the small town of Löffel. We first follow Georgie, a young witch from an elk ranch on the outskirts of Xalé. Georgie ventures from her home in the Northern Mountains to the River Valley, where she hopes to train under her idol, the baker Fausto. At the same time, we follow the young witch Afia, a young scholar from the large capital city Bakunini. After an academic debacle, Afia leaves her home in the South to go to the River Valley and learn about the mysteries of High Magic on her own.
